This week’s New Making class was quite provocative. We were looking at how to visualise and then physicalise data. During the class we were split into groups of, given a sheet of collected data from Quentin Tarantino movies, a place and type (my group got home and collection)
From this data we were to create a physical representation.
My group decided to create a tree out of plasticine. Each blob represents the profits, the tree grown upward in order of release year, the most recent film on the tree being at the top. We also decided to roughly show the deaths of each movie by adding arms to each of the blobs.
This was a really useful but also quite fun workshop.
